ARTIST IN HIS STUDIO

I interviewed who have lessons to learn from their sacrifices and dedication to work hard to uphold our rich history and culture. I made to support our brothers and sisters in the arts.

An artist plays an important role in recognizing our culture and to promote social change. this is another education and documentary on the creative person.
I hope they will be inspired by their sacrifices and dedication in the field of arts and culture. "The town that has an identity, that has its own is a legacy for the future." So, let's love our art and culture.

- LET'S TALK ART -

One of my trips was to be invited to his Art Camp Lab and see the Bangan Project Space.

and interview a controversial artist in the Philippines, Mideo Cruz. In the art talk, we looked back and talked about the impact of his exhibition at the CCP Cultural Center of the Philippines, "Poleteismo."

Mideo M. Cruz (Philippines,
b. 1973) is a cross-disciplinary artist and activist
based in Gapan City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines.

His artworks often showcase bold and provocative
statements on the social structure.

Mideo Cruz Awards:
He is a recipient of three most prestigious awards for young artists in the Philippines: the 2003 Cultural Center of the Philippines Thirteen Artists Award, the 2003 Sungduan Grant and the 2006 Ateneo Art Award.
In this vlog, we also talked about the controversial art of the artist. "Poleteismo" is an installation art by Mideo Cruz, that became controversial in the mass and social media in 2011 because of its usage of religious imagery juxtaposed with social, political, and popular images.

Controversial art exhibit “Kulo”
and one of its featured works “Poleteismo”

The case arose from Cruz’s “Poleteismo” – a wall collage of conflicting and contradictory images of popular religiosity, politics and consumerism – that was shown in the Kulo exhibit at the CCP in 2011 along with 31 other art works celebrating the national hero Jose Rizal’s 150thbirthday and the University of Sto. Tomas’s 400th founding anniversary.

The exhibit, which opened on June 17, 2011, was prematurely shutdown by CCP authorities because of the controversies generated by Cruz’s installation, which, among other things, juxtaposed religious iconography with phalluses and other discordant symbols and images.

This interview for Educational Purposes only! MIDEO- INTERVIEW: Ang panayam na ito ay para sa Mga Layuning Pang-Edukasyon lamang! Art has always shared an intricate relationship with society, serving as both a mirror and a catalyst for cultural change.
-The genital metaphor of the male phallus is the most familiar, being associated with a form of hegemonic masculinity identified with power and control.

"In my opinion, the one who gives meaning is the one who looks. because the experience will still determine what is seen? that's why they see the artwork as rude, it's not me who is rude. but their thinking is rude. why do they see rudeness?"
This interview for Educational Purposes only! "IDOLATRY" - the worship of idols. The first of the biblical Ten Commandments prohibits idolatry: “You shall have no other gods before me.” Inuulit ko lagi - "Ang panayam na ito ay para sa Mga Layuning Pang-edukasyon lamang!"
