Binondo, Manila

Binondo is the Chinatown area of Manila.

The name comes from the Tagalog word binondoc, which means ‘mountainous’ due to its hilly landscape. Founded by Spanish Governor Luis Perez Dasmarinas in 1594, it was originally meant for Chinese immigrants who converted to Catholicism, making it the world’s oldest Chinatown district.

Visitors tour along Binondo’s streets and try the famous Chinese restaurants that line Ongpin, fulfilling the popular “Binondo Food Crawl”.

While i was in the middle of chinese new year in binondo next to plaza lorenzo ruiz i tried street food and ate siomai cheap which is worth the savings.

there are too many people in binondo, Chinese and Pinoys. the locals also scattered. vendors along the way so you won't be hungry while you're walking through binondo.

The siomai I ate was delicious, the taste was ok,

and it was worth the budget.

For P25 siomai you have 3 pieces and P15 rice. Of course, they also have refreshments or gelatin for only P10. I only ate P50 in total. It's worth it because it's cheap and delicious!
