The Purpose of Book Festival

The festival is organized by the National Book Development Board (NBDB), a government agency tasked with advancing the country's literary industry.

They said that the four-day event is meant to “promote a culture of reading and develop the publishing industry in the Philippines.”

When I went here to the Philippine book festival. There are still some of our countrymen who still enjoy reading.

This is a good sign for all Filipinos, to expand knowledge and education. And some came just to be curious.

We also had children who were seen at the opening of the event at the book festival turning the page even in the modern age of technology and gadgets. There is still something enticing to read.

Prof. Ambeth R. Ocampo OL KGOR OAL is a Filipino public historian, academic, cultural administrator, 

journalist, author, and independent curator. 

Atty. Frederick holds his book with the signature of the famous writer and veteran in the history of the Philippines, Prof. Ambeth Ocampo.

Randy Valiente is a writer and artist. He recieved numerous awards for both literature and visual arts including the NCCA Writers Prize, CCP Grants, Gawad Tanglaw, to name a few. He is the acting president of Society of Philippine Illustrators and Cartoonist (SPIC) and a board member of International Board for Books for Young People-Philippines (IBBY PH). He is the curator of the travelling exhibition Komiks: Sining Biswal.
