Join us as we explore La Loma Cemetery — the oldest Catholic cemetery in Manila, established in 1884. This episode of Undas Spot brings a new perspective to how we remember and honor the past through art, culture, and history.
Through Art Camp Philippines’ heritage initiative, we transform a place often seen with fear into a canvas of memory and reverence — proving that art can preserve what time tries to fade.

“Children of God, Not of Darkness.” In a time when Undas (All Souls’ Day) is often associated with fear and darkness, Art Camp PH chooses to celebrate it as a season of light, remembrance,
and history.
For the youth and artists, the cemetery is not merely a resting place for the departed—it is a living page of history, a silent witness to stories long told and forgotten.

Each tomb, chapel, and gravestone stands as a portal of memory—linking us to the nation’s deeper story of faith, struggle, and identity.

Rather than seeing it as a symbol of death, Art Camp PH embraces it as a museum of life and heritage—a sacred space for reflection, learning, and creation. Here, we listen to the echoes of the past—the voices of those who once gave color, art, and spirit to our society.

🎨 We Made History

Ang Art Camp Philippines ang kauna-unahang art heritage group na nakapagsagawa ng isang opisyal na art documentation event sa loob ng pinakamatandang sementeryo sa Pilipinas
— ang La Loma Catholic Cemetery (est. 1884).

“Undas Spot: Sketches of Remembrance” becomes a union of faith and art—a reminder that in every drawing, photograph, and documentation lies a bridge between yesterday and today. Through art, memory lives again. And in the midst of tombs and shadows, the light of remembrance, hope, and faith shines once more. ✨ UNDAS SPOT: “GUHIT NG ALAALA” A Reflection of Life, Art, and Memory Beyond the Grave

In the midst of flickering candles and prayers whispered to the wind, Art Camp Philippines continues its mission — to reclaim meaning, beauty,
and history in the spaces we often overlook.

This year’s Undas Spot gathering at La Loma Cemetery, in partnership with RCAM (Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila), Fr. Tony, and Ms. Lisa, has become more than just an art activity — it is a movement of memory,
a bridge between the living and the departed, between modern youth and timeless heritage.

While the world turns Halloween into horror and spectacle, Art Camp PH offers a different lens — to see the cemetery not as a place of fear, but as a museum of memory, an open-air archive of stories carved in stone. The young artists were encouraged to draw, paint, and document what they see — the ornate tombs, the aged sculptures, the weeping angels, and the quiet beauty of time.
“Ang sementeryo ay hindi lamang tahanan ng mga patay, kundi bintana ng mga kwento ng ating bayan.” Through Undas Spot: Guhit ng Alaala, we return to the essence of Undas — not horror, but holiness; not darkness, but reflection; not fear, but creation.
