An unusual thing in a celebration of the feast day of a patron saint in a very few towns, if not forgotten by now, that dates back in the early years.

We are now inside a giant paper balloon made by Tatay Idez.

I met Nicomedes “Mang IDEZ” Villaluz, a giant balloon maker who lives in Angono, Rizal.

"I started making giant balloons in 1986. flying balloons started with my father and my grandfather. I'm three generations old, it's a tradition that has been passed down in our family legacy for a long time."

Apart from that he is the only one who makes a giant balloon made of paper that others call it hot air balloon. it is performed and done only on the eve of the night.

At the last mass on November 22,
before the feast of Saint Clement, the patron saint of Angono.

In just a few minutes we will witness the events here outside the church. And we are lucky to be a part of their celebration of the festival here in the town of angono.

St. Clement I is the patron of sailors and stone-carvers.

Beliefs and faiths in the area and cultures and traditions are alive and well in modern times.

But here in Angono it is a thanksgiving, ushering in the formal start of the feast day. This is a sign that can be seen at night in the space of the eve.

I'm on the view deck of the Art Center
overlooking the lakeside Wawa of Angono, Rizal

Lakeside Wawa of Angono, Rizal

It becomes a symbol of a light like the lighthouse that gives a signal or guide to the return of those who swim in the lake to prepare for the celebration.

Viva! San Clemente!
