Mike Lu
co-founder of the Asian Bird Fair (ABF)
and President of the Wild Bird Club of the Philippines (WBCP) MIKE LU - "Having held the ABF in 13 host cities in different Asian countries, I believe we have raised awareness of birdwatching as a potent ecotourism activity/product as well as awareness to the role of birds in the environment.
Being held in a different city/country each year, has its challenges hence we keep our targets reasonable and that is to focus on birdwatching as an ecotourism activity and the role of birds in environmental education.
Looking further, the Asian Bird Fair is also a founding member of the World Birdfairs Council along with the South America Bird Fair, the African Birding Expo (Uganda) and the Feria Internacional de Turismo Ornithologico (Spain).
We are planning to hold the 1st World Bird Fair in Taiwan next year."

My first time going here to the Asian bird Fair. Didn't think their community would be this wide and big. I have long been obsessed with animals in the wild.
Even when I was a child, my parents also trained me to see animals and take care of them. I remembered when I was a child a type of bird my father gave me as a gift, my first pet bird and my mother called and gave it the name "PIKOY."
Blue-Naped Parrot
(Tanygnathus Lucionensis)
It is a parrot or blue-naped parrot
(Tanygnathus lucionensis) found only in the Visayas region of the Philippines. This is one of my memories when it comes to birds. Since then, I have been fond of petting pigeons, love birds, and myna birds, and I also never missed watching Paulie's movie, a parrot.
In my experiences at the fair, it has a broad responsibility to teach young people the importance of birds in the wild. guest speakers who taught lectures about birding.
and for bird watchers, the hotspots in the Philippines that are infested with foreign birds can be found in the area. This gathering is important because we see the importance of them as well as the protected wetlands.
It is important to protect and preserve them for our ecosystem to be balanced. it is also another to see the data of their number in the wild.
At the top pf Matukad Island in Caramoan
(Bicol Region) and whether they are in danger of being depleted and disappearing forever from our nature.

At the very heart of Manila Bay lies a silent witness: the port, the Bureau of Quarantine building, and the waters that once carried vessels of trade, migration, and colonial conquest. In Anchored Echoes: Art Camp at the Gates of Manila, Art Camp Philippines steps into this memory-scape, sketching the past while confronting the present.
