HOW TO CHOOSE A CAMPSITE? #campingtips #camping #campinglife #campingcar #camping #pinoycamping
How to choose a campsite?
Here are 7 tips to
1. SIZE
2. LEVEL
3. SHADE
4. LOCATION
5. NEIGHBOURS
6. WIND
7. SITE CONDITIONS
Do you have a big tent?
How many tents do you need to fit on
a
Will you have space for your table and chairs and additional camping equipment such as a kitchen at the campground (and if the campground has one)
TOP TIP: Another important consideration when choosing the size of your camping area. will you use a campfire? You don't want that campfire anywhere near your gear, especially the tent. as far as possible the fire has a distance from your place to prevent smoke from entering your tent, in case there is a strong wind.
Find a good spot where you can lie down comfortably.
DON'Ts - Another reason you're looking for a relatively flat
area. is in case of heavy rain. A site that is sinking, means that water can
create flooding or pools.
That will increase the chances of water getting into your
tent.
3. SHADE - If the weather is going to be hot some shade is a
good option to have.
Avoid camping in the shade of large gums or any tree with
large dead branches.
You want to position yourself where the tree will provide
afternoon shade. So, see where the sun will rise and set. And place your camping
gear where it will benefit from the afternoon shade.
Trees at a campsite
will make your camping experience even more important! And you can hang your
hammock!
4. LOCATION - When looking at a campsite look at your needs (like size, shade mentioned earlier,) And then, your wants and possible needs.
Some of these may not matter to you:
- I don't care if you hear snoring at
night, or lots of people passing by your campsite.
Proximity to a water source:
- If you need water for drinking, how far do you have to walk to access it?
Is this something you need
for your trip?
Restrooms: How far are they from you (if available)?
Do you have to be close, and you might just get bad smells
and Foot Traffic. Or are you independent and don't need easy access?
PRIVACY: What screening is there between you and the next site?
Can you see and hear every part of a neighbor wandering around camping?
The proximity of other sites: How close is the next site?
Are you all together?
By choosing a campsite next to another camping group, are
you giving them the privacy they expect or can you camp separately.
For the reason that the noise in the camping area is
unavoidable especially if you are with someone who is drinking and enjoying
himself until the morning. In the end, you know your sleep will not be
comfortable. It's still up to you to decide quickly whether you should move.
5. NEIGHBOURS - This may not be a popular thing for me to
say! But What is hell to you!
-It's a fact that when you camp near groups or hang out
expect to stay awake and they don't...
When looking at a campsite where others are already there, I
sometimes look at the campers themselves, and that will be the basis for our
campsite selection.
You can't always choose your neighbors, and to a certain extent you hope to meet people with good camping ethics or behavior.
DISCIPLINE
IS NECESSARY...
6. WIND - A breeze can be a good thing -- blow smoke from
campfires. Help cool you down on a hot sunny day (especially if going out in
the water).
But strong winds can also be a hindrance to camping, not
only making it harder to set up your tent, but also blowing away your camping
gear.
Find a good spot that will block strong winds such as trees
and rocks as a WIND BREAK or protection.
7. SITE CONDITIONS - You may need to get out of your car and
look around your site more closely before you make a decision. Would it be
better to pitch a tent?
- Check that there is no ANT HILL on the site.
- Is the ground free of debris such as branches, rocks, trash, especially glass and metal that could damage your gear and injure you?
It's something you can remove if needed, so it's not a deal-breaker for a site. Is it heavy compacted soil? It may indicate that if it rains, the ground will be the color of poop or mud. Expect first if you are far from an amenity.
You may have to endure a camp that is more exposed to the elements, such as a CAMPSITE PEST carry protection against insects or (Insect Repellent). You just need to be prepared for it when it happens and make adjustments if possible. Always remember the camping kit just in case of emergency it won't be a problem on your trips. Choosing a camping spot can make or break the success of your camping trip. Be smart, check carefully and make sure the chosen place to pitch the tent is safe.
Choose poorly, and you may have some problems you didn't
expect for your trip.
A good campsite is located. Please take care of the
environment keep it clean, and safe "Leave No Trace."
