Alright! Hello fellow Campers! here at "FOOD TRIP" we will give you the opportunity to try new recipes and new foods that we will introduce so come on, friends let's go on a Food Trip! Pinakbet originated in the region of Ilocos, but today it appears in many regional and seasonal varieties. The word pinakbet is derived from the Ilocano word pinakebbet, meaning “shrunk” or “shrivelled”. This pakbet or pinakbet vegetable dish is more than a regional cuisine. It is a symbol of the Ilocano palate.



Pinakbet (also called pakbet or pinak bet) is an indigenous Filipino dish from the northern regions of the Philippines.


Description:
It's my first time to try these 2 regional cuisines as ETAG “Igorot Smoked Meat,” from Cordillera and pinakbet as Ilocano symbol of the region cuisine. I called this menu "PINAKBETAG" a fusion of pinakbet with etag as smoke meat. it's another new taste in the Filipino cuisine.

Ingredients:
ETAG smoke meat small, sliced of pork belly chopped scallion leaks chopped garlic chopped onion chopped bell pepper chopped tomato chopped squash bagoong (optional) okra string beans eggplant ginger cassava leaf - talbos ng kamote pinch of Himalayan pink salt (optional) pinch of garlic powder (optional) pinch of crushed pepper oyster sauce 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Etag is smoked pork from the Philippines which is smoked in the closets of village elders. the Igorot's traditional way to preserve the meat of a wild pig. Etag, also known as “Igorot smoked meat,” “smoked mountain ham” or “smoked bacon” is salted pork, regarded as part of the life of a Cordilleran from the time of birth until death. What does etag taste like? The etag tastes smoky, salty, and rich. If necessary, the etag will be soaked in water to reduce its saltiness. It is served with rice or cooked with stir-fried native vegetables. It is also often served with pinikpikan, another Igorot dish, wherein a chicken is beaten to death with a stick.
